Dinbych suffer defeat at Pant Carw

Despite matching Teirw Nant’s four tries, Dinbych suffered their second successive defeat in a thrilling encounter in which resulted from both side’s positive attitude in count - attacking at every opportunity.

Dinbych opened the scoring after 8 minutes with a penalty by skipper Dan O’Sullivan but went behind to an unconverted try in the corner by Teirw Nant 7 minutes later. Dinbych then regained the lead in the 29th minute when flanker Aron Evans went over for an unconverted try after No.8 Robin Williams powered away from a Dinbych scrum deep in Nants 22.

Nant then drew level with a penalty when Dinbych offended at a breakdown before the visitors hit back when they counterattacked from a relieving kick near half way with wing Aidyn Jones making an incisive break down the middle before centre Tom Seddon went over near the corner for an unconverted try. Nant fought back with a converted try on the stroke of half time giving them a slender lead by 15 points to 13 at the interval.

Nant went further into the lead two minutes into the second half with a try in the corner after a long range counter attack with the conversion attempt from the touchline bouncing over from the crossbar. Dinbych replied six minutes later with an unconverted try when flanker Tom Jones forced his way over in the corner with an excellent touchline finish.

Nant again went further ahead as they recycled possession through several phases before scoring a converted try near the posts. Dinbych again responded well to get within one score of the hosts when Dan O’Sullivan cut clean through the defensive line for a fine solo finish, but was unable to convert the try. Nant then made the game safe with 5 minutes remaining when Dinbych were caught offside with the successful penalty taking Nant 9 points clear.
